NORMAL, Ill. – After winter storms that swept across the south, Illinois State will return the field this weekend, traveling to Knoxville, Tennessee, for the Tennessee Invitational.
The tournament pool features Tennessee, Northern Kentucky, Central Michigan, UT Martin and the Redbirds. With the updated field, the Redbirds' matchup against the Lady Vols on Wednesday is now considered a single-game outing and no longer a part of the tournament lineup.

SNOWBIRDS
Illinois State will be fully rested heading into the Tennessee Invitational, after the previously scheduled trip to North Alabama this past weekend was canceled due to the ice and snow dumped in Florence, Alabama, by two winter storms.
UNA's Athletic Director Mark Linder announced on Feb. 18 that its men's golf, baseball, softball, volleyball, cross country and men's and women's basketball teams that were all scheduled to compete, either at home or on the road, would be unable to return to competition until Monday, Feb. 22, at the earliest.
A DOZEN BY DAY
Morgan Day picked up right where she left off in the circle in Illinois State's weather-shortened outing at the River City Leadoff during opening weekend. In the Redbirds' season-opening win over North Florida, Day delivered 12 strikeouts in a complete game effort, posting a 0.00 ERA. Day's shutout win of the Ospreys marked the 12th of her career, as the right-hander gave up just one hit while allowing a trio of walks. Opening the sixth inning by fanning back-to-back batters, Day recorded her 10th double-digit strikeout performance of her career, before sealing the win with her 12th strikeout. Day held the batters she faced to a .043 batting average in her dominate performance, while being named the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 15.
