NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows presented by Bud Light, featuring Illinois State men's basketball head coach Dan Muller and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight. Fans can listen on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie recap last week's games and preview upcoming match-ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by freshman forward Kate Bullman. Bullman is averaging 4.5 points and 3.4 boards per game in her debut season with the Redbirds, leading the team with 12 blocks on the year and ranked 10th in the Valley, averaging 0.9 blocks per game.
The women's basketball team (10-4, 7-4 MVC) will kick off a four-game homestand this weekend as they host nationally-ranked Missouri State at Redbird Arena on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13. Tip-off is at 4 p.m. for both games.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Leudke. Muller will be joined by junior guard Josiah Strong. Strong had 14 points off the bench in yesterday's 72-62 loss to Missouri State, making three triples and going a perfect 3-of-3 from the charity stripe. The junior is averaging 11.4 points and 3.1 assists per game in his first year as a Redbird.
The men's basketball team (5-14, 2-11 MVC) heads to Carbondale, Ill. on Saturday, Feb. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 14 to take on Southern Illinois. Tip-off for both games is set for 3 p.m.
