NORMAL, Ill. – Fifth-year senior Colton Johnson posted a stellar outing, striking out a career-high 12 batters while conceding just three infield singles and one walk over eight scoreless innings. Missouri scored seven runs in the 9th inning to win, 7-0, on Friday at Duffy Bass Field.
The Redbirds struggled to generate any offense, posting just two hits and two walks.
Missouri (5-9 overall) got seven innings from Spencer Miles, who stuck out six.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams were in a stalemate for eight innings, with neither team pushing across a run.
Missouri exploded for seven runs in the 9th inning to lift the Tigers to victory.

· Johnson's 12 strikeouts are the most by a Redbird pitcher since Brent Headrick fanned 14 against Indiana in the NCAA Tournament on 5/31/19.
· The 'Birds are hosting their first four-game series since hosting SIUE in 2015.
