NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State volleyball team (11-5, 9-3 MVC) will travel to Carbondale, Illinois, to close out the regular season against Southern Illinois (2-16, 1-15 MVC) this weekend. First serve on Saturday and Sunday is set for 2 p.m.

Both matches will air on ESPN+, while live stats will also be available for fans to follow the Redbirds.
SETTING SIGHTS ON THE TITLE
The first-place Redbirds will look to clinch the program's 10th Missouri Valley Conference regular season title this weekend at SIU. Illinois State, who has a 9-3 (.750) record in league play, is closely followed by Drake (10-4, .714) and Bradley (11-5, .688) in the Valley standings. If Illinois State wins the title, it will mark the second time in three seasons that the Redbirds have accomplished this feat, as ISU won a share of the title in 2018.

Illinois State is checking in at No. 23 in the latest RPI report (March 21) with key nonconference wins over Marquette and Cincinnati. The Redbirds are the highest-ranking Valley team, sitting ahead of Bradley (No. 69) and Valparaiso (No. 92).
MVC CHAMPIONSHIP RETURNS TO REDBIRD ARENA
The 2020-21 MVC Volleyball Championship returns to Redbird Arena, April 1-3, as the league's top eight teams will battle for the tournament title and earn the MVC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The last time the Redbirds hosted was in 2017, when Missouri State swept UNI in the championship match.
