CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Illinois State baseball team was edged by SEMO, 4-3, on a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning on Friday night at Capaha Field.Â
Fifth-year senior Colton Johnson threw six innings, allowing two earned runs while striking out eight for Illinois State (2-4 overall). Fourth-year junior Colin Wyman impressed for the second-straight outing, firing 2.1 scoreless innings while facing the minimum seven batters and striking out two.Â
Fourth-year junior Nick Gile had three singles and fifth-year senior Joe Butler posted two hits and two walks.Â
Peyton Leeper recorded the walk-off hit for SEMO (3-5 overall).Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
Fifth-year senior Joe Butler and Jordan Libman each recorded RBI doubles in the 1st inning to put ISU up, 2-0.Â
SEMO responded with a pair of runs in the 5th innings before a single by fourth-year sophomore Jake McCaw drove in Libman to put the 'Birds ahead, 3-2.Â
The Red Hawks plated a run in the 7th inning prior to Leeper's walk-off single in the 10th.Â

- Both teams recorded 11 hits, marking the third-straight contest ISU and its opponent have had the same number of hits.Â
