Normal, Ill.--The Illinois State women's soccer team heads to Des Moines, Iowa on Wednesday, March 10 at 7 p.m. to take on the Drake Bulldogs. The Redbirds will look to keep their undefeated Missouri Valley Conference record alive. The Redbirds are looking to get their second road win of the season, the team currently sits at 1-0 in road conference games and 1-2 overall on the road.
Last season the Bulldogs and Redbirds faced off at a neutral site in Bettendorf, Iowa. In a tight 1-0 match, Illinois State took the win. In the last five matchups between the two teams, four of the matches have seen one goal games. The Redbirds are 2-3 against the Bulldogs in the last 5 matches but lead the overall series 12-8-2.Â
The Redbirds come into Des Moines with some momentum, not only winning their first two conference matches but shutting both Evansville and Missouri State out. The Redbirds held each conference foe to under 5 total shots in the match respectively.Â

Drake-What You Need to Know
The Bulldogs currently sit at 0-2 with losses to Loyola and Indiana State. In the match against Indiana State, both teams took 11 shots as the Sycamores took a 1-0 win. Drake's other MVC game came against Loyola, where they lost 2-0.Â
Last season the Bulldogs went 8-10-1, going 4-3 in MVC play. The team posted a 6-4-1 record last season when playing on their home turf.Â
Currently, junior Libby Helverson leads the team in shots, taking four and putting all on goal.Â
