LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced on Tuesday that Redbird volleyball standouts Stef Jankiewicz and Kaylee Martin have been given All-North Region honors. Jankiewicz's recognition marks the third-straight season that the setter has been honored by the organization, while Martin is earning her first career accolade from the AVCA.
Jankiewicz, who was named the Missouri Valley Conference Setter of the Year, became the first player in league history to earn the award twice in her career after receiving the honor in 2018. The Farmington Hills, Michigan, native currently ranks in the top 40 in NCAA Division I in assists (728) and assists per set (10.87). Jankiewicz has accumulated 4,808 assists in her career, which ranks third all-time in ISU program history and 13th in Valley history.
Martin has excelled in her three years as a Redbird, after transferring in her sophomore season. For the third-straight year, Martin garnered All-MVC First Team honors and currently ranks in the top 40 in NCAA Division I in kills (297), total attacks (830) and points (330.0). The outside hitter leads the team in kills and kills per set (4.07) and has collected the fourth-most digs (209) as a six-rotation player this season. Martin has eleven 20-plus kill performances in her career, has tallied 1,118 total kills and is the only three-year player in the 1,000-kills club at Illinois State.
Jankiewicz and Martin are now eligible for AVCA All-America honors, which are set to be announced at a later date.
