NORMAL, Ill. – After a third-place finish at the 16-team event hosted by Southern Illinois a week ago, the Illinois State Redbirds get their final tune-up for the 2021 MVC Championships as the squad hosts the Redbird Invitational on Friday and Saturday this weekend.

About the Tournament: 2020-21 is the 11th consecutive season that the event has taken place, and the 33rd total season of the event. Last season's event, played in the fall, was won by Xavier with the second-lowest team score in tournament history, while NIU's Caroline Klemp took home the individual title with a 215 (fifth-best three-round score in tournament history).
About the Redbirds: The Redbirds are off to one of their best starts in program history, as the team has finished inside of the top half of the field in each of the five tournaments of the season, including last week's 3rd place finish of 16 schools at the Diane Daugherty Invitational.
