DALLAS, Texas – The Illinois State baseball team fell in the series finale at Dallas Baptist by a 3-0 scoreline Sunday at Horner Ballpark.
Illinois State (18-29 overall, 8-12 Missouri Valley Conference) was led by two hits from fourth-year junior Kyle Soberano. The Redbirds now have a six-game losing streak.
Luke Eldred threw five scoreless innings for Dallas Baptist (29-11 overall, 14-2 MVC), which limited the 'Birds to three hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DBU scored once in the 2nd, 6th, and 7th to lead 3-0 after seven innings.
The Redbirds never had multiple runners on base in the same inning.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Fifth-year junior Aidan Huggins was the other Redbird with a hit in the contest.
- The Redbirds were shutout for the fourth time in 2021.
- Sinisko has not walked a batter in his last three starts.
