NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Joe's Station House Pizza Pub in Normal. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie recap last week's Missouri Valley Conference action and preview upcoming match-ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by sophomore Kate Bullman. Bullman recorded back-to-back double-doubles this weekend to average 14 points and 11.5 rebounds over Illinois State's two wins at home. The Grayslake, Ill.-native had a dominant performance on Thursday night versus Valparaiso, finishing with 15 points, 13 rebounds, six blocks, three steals and three assists in 37 minutes on the court. The women's basketball team (9-7, 5-0 MVC) is the only undefeated team left in MVC play and looks to improve on their six-game winning streak as they hit the road this weekend, playing at Southern Illinois on Thursday and Missouri State on Saturday.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by junior forward Ryan Schmitt. Schmitt is averaging 2.6 points and 2.5 rebounds in his first season with the Redbirds. The men's basketball team (9-8, 2-2 MVC) is coming off a I-74 rivalry win on Sunday night and will play three games this week due to rescheduling, heading to Missouri State on Wednesday before hosting Evansville on Friday at 6 p.m. CT at Redbird Arena. The Redbirds will then make the return trip to the Purple Aces, playing at Evansville on Sunday afternoon.
