NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) will be hosting a Canned Food Drive in conjunction with the Jan. 29 women's basketball game versus Drake and Feb. 15 men's basketball game with UNI.
ISU's SAAC will be competing against Missouri State and Indiana State's SAAC to collect the most items.
"For SAAC this year, our main community service opportunities are food drives for the School Street Pantry at two of our basketball games," said Kendee Hilliard, President for Illinois State SAAC and volleyball student-athlete. "We decided that we wanted to be a helping hand to our fellow students in need. We invited Missouri State and Indiana State SAACs to showcase the impact SAAC can have. We're supporting our respective communities while sparking friendly competition outside our typical competition spaces."
Donation boxes will be placed around the concourse and all items collected will be donated to ISU's School Street Pantry on campus.
