NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2021 cross country academic awards this afternoon with both the men's and women's Illinois State cross country teams earning All-Academic recognition for the seventh-straight year.
To be eligible for All-Academic distinction, teams must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The Redbird men posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.19, while the women recorded a cumulative team GPA of 3.76 on a 4.0 scale.
The All-Academic Team recognition marks the 12th time in the last 14 years that the men have earned the honor and 14th time in the last 15 years that the women have qualified for the distinction.
