NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Joe's Station House Pizza Pub in Normal. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie recap last week's Missouri Valley Conference action and preview upcoming match-ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by redshirt sophomore Maya Wong. Wong is coming off scoring a career-high 17 points in a win at home against Drake on Saturday evening, and she leads the team on the season with 60 assists while her 9.5 point per game average is fourth-best on the squad. The Redbirds continue their four-game homestand this weekend, hosting Evansville on Friday night at 6 p.m. and Indiana State on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Redbird Arena.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by sophomore forward Liam McChesney. Twice in the past week McChesney scored in double figures, each time topping his career-high, including a career-high 19 on the road at UNI on Saturday. For the week he averaged 16.5 points per game and six rebounds. The Redbirds remain on the road for its next game, a 7 p.m. battle with the Loyola Ramblers on Wednesday, before returning home on Saturday with an in-state rivalry game with the Southern Illinois Salukis in a 7 p.m. tip-off at Redbird Arena.
Fans are invited to watch Monday's shows live at the Joe's Station House Pizza Pub, located at the Shoppes at College Hills at 305 Veterans Pkwy in Normal. However, for those unable to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC 1230-AM and on GoRedbirds.com.
