ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Illinois State volleyball freshman Regan Haith was named the MVC's Freshman of the Week for her performances against Indiana State (October 14) and Evansville (October 15), as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Haith recorded team-highs in kills (27; 3.38 kills/set), hitting percentage (.407), and blocks (10; 1.25 blocks/set) in the two matches. Haith had a career-high 16 kills in the Redbirds' Friday victory over Indiana State, in addition to coming just one block short of her career-high as she tallied eight.
Haith was named Defensive Player of the Week (September 6) following her performances in the Redbird Classic earlier this season.
Illinois State travels to Belmont (October 21) and Murray State (October 22) as freshmen have seen an increased role. In the last three matches, freshmen have accounted for 130 of the team's 159 kills (81.8%) and have had more kills than non-freshmen in the last seven matches.
