NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State head men's basketball coach Ryan Pedon and women's head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from BloNo Pizza Co. in Normal.
Fans unable to attend the show can listen on WJBC 1230 AM, the Varsity Network, and on GoRedbirds.com., as Pedon and Gillespie recap the past week of non-conference play and preview their upcoming matchups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Halbleib will be joined by head coach Kristen Gillespie and junior forward Kate Bullman. Bullman was a big contributor to ISU's stingy defense in the season opening win last Thursday. Against Dayton, Bullman finished with four assists, two blocks, two steals, and seven rebounds in the 74-70 overtime victory.
The women's basketball team (1-0) are home twice this week as they continue non-conference play with St. Thomas and Big Ten foe, Wisconsin, coming to Normal. The Redbirds and Tommies tip-off from CEFCU Arena – Home of the Redbirds at 6:30 p.m. CT Tuesday while the Redbirds and Badgers will tip off at 2:00 p.m. CT Sunday.
The Ryan Pedon Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by John Fitzgerald and Mike Matthews. Pedon will be joined this week by fifth-year guard Colton Sandage. The Bloomington native is the first local player to be brought in under scholarship since his older brother, Brandon Holtz, played for the Redbirds from 2005-09.
The men's basketball team (2-1) is back home this week as they host Northwestern State on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT inside CEFCU Arena before heading to the Cayman Islands Classic from Nov. 21 to Nov. 23.
