NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Joe's Station House Pizza Pub in Normal. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie recap last week's Missouri Valley Conference action and preview upcoming match-ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by senior Kayel Newland. Newland has played in all but one game this season, averaging 3.5 points while shooting an impressive 73.3% (11-15) from deep in MVC play. A four-year player for Coach Gillespie, Newland will be honored at Senior Day this coming Sunday. The women's basketball team (15-9, 11-2 MVC) remains at the top of the Valley standings and hosts current second place Southern Illinois and third place Missouri State for its final homestand on Friday and Sunday this weekend.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. The men's basketball team (11-15, 4-9 MVC) hosts UNI at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night this week before taking on I-74 rivals Bradley on the road in Peoria on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Fans are invited to watch Monday's shows live at the Joe's Station House Pizza Pub, located at the Shoppes at College Hills at 305 Veterans Pkwy in Normal. However, for those unable to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC 1230-AM and on GoRedbirds.com.
