NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Joe's Station House Pizza Pub in Normal. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie recap last week's Missouri Valley Conference action and preview upcoming match ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by senior Lexy Koudelka. Koudelka, a native of Nevada, Iowa, has battled injuries over the past two seasons, and has played in five games this year. Over her career she has played in 89 games with 24 total starts, and averages 4.3 points per game over her four seasons. The Redbirds – who are riding a three-game win streak – take to the road this weekend with a Thursday, February 10 contest at Loyola Chicago, and a Saturday, February 12 battle with the Valparaiso Beacons in a 1 p.m. tip-off.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by redshirt junior forward Sy Chatman. Chatman played in 20 games this season before suffering a season-ending knee injury on January 23. Prior to his injury, he was averaging 13.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, while making 55 percent of his shots from the field. ISU stays at home for its next game, a 7 p.m. tip-off on Wednesday, February 9 against the Valparaiso Beacons before hitting the road for a 1 p.m. tip-off against Indiana State on Saturday, February 12.
