Antonio Reeves Named to All-MVC Second Team

ST. LOUIS – Behind an MVC-leading scoring average of 20.2 points per game, Illinois State junior guard Antonio Reeves has been named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference Second Team in a poll conducted by the MVC coaches, SID's, and media.

Reeves scored 627 points in the team's 31 games this season, the seventh-highest single-season point total in program history. His 74 three-pointers made this season is the sixth-most by a junior in program history and his team-high 105 made free throws is just outside of the top-10 for a junior in program history.

This season he has scored in double-figures in 29 of the team's 31 games, including 17 games of 20 or more points, tied for the seventh-most in the country this season and sixth-most in program history. His scoring average is 18th-best in NCAA Division I this season.

Earlier this season Reeves became the 46th member of Illinois State's 1,000-point club, and he currently stands tied for 33rd in program history with 1,160 points over his three seasons.

Reeves is joined on the second team by Noah Carter of UNI, Marcus Domask of Southern Illinois, and Drake's Tucker DeVries and Garrett Sturtz. The All-MVC first team was led by AJ Green (UNI), Isiaih Mosley and Gaige Prim (Missouri State), Terry Roberts (Bradley), and Lucas Williamson (Loyola).

The Redbirds open play in the MVC Tournament on Thursday, March 3 at 6 p.m., when the squad faces off against the Indiana State Sycamores for the second time in six days.
