NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State junior guard Antonio Reeves has been named to the All-District 16 from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, becoming the Redbirds' eighth player since 2017 to earn that honor, and the first since the 2019 season.
Earlier this season, Reeves was named to the All-MVC Second Team in addition to earning the team captain spot on the All-MVC Most Improved Team.
Reeves scored 662 in 33 games during the season, the fourth-highest single-season total in program history while becoming the first Redbird since 2000-01 to average at least 20 points per game in a season for Illinois State. Reeves' 1,195 career points through three seasons is the 28th-highest highest in Illinois State basketball history.Â
This season he has scored in double-figures in 31of the team's 33 games, including 18 games of 20 or more points, tied for the seventh-most in the country this season and sixth-most in program history. His scoring average is 19th-best in NCAA Division I this season.Â
