NORMAL, Ill. – Freshman Jaye Mack continued her stellar debut season on the floor last weekend at BYU, tying a career-high to tie for first place. For her efforts, Mack shared the MIC Performance of the Week honor on Wednesday as announced by the conference.
This is Mack third MIC weekly honor this season, having been named the Newcomer of the Week twice previously. She shared the honor with TWU's Isabel Goyco, who also scored well on floor to place first last weekend at Oklahoma.
In last Friday's tri meet with nationally-ranked BYU and Washington, Mack stepped up big time to tie her career-best with a 9.925 on floor to finish in a three-way tie for first place. It matched her career best set the previous week at Southeast Missouri State and she has now gone 9.9 or higher five times this season and four times in as many weeks. Mack also picked up a top 10 finish on vault with a score of 9.800.
The Redbirds will wrap up the regular season on Saturday at home, when they host MIC member Southeast Missouri State at Redbird Arena at 5 p.m. It will be Senior Night for ISU, which will recognize its four seniors at the conclusion of the meet.
