NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State volleyball program has completed its 2022 signing class and will add five student-athletes to the roster for the upcoming 2022 season this fall.
"I am excited to welcome this 2022 recruiting class to the Redbird family," Head Coach Allie Matters said. "They are a great group of talented athletes but more importantly, they are a great group of young women. As coaches, we always want student-athletes that will embody everything that a University and Athletic Department stands for. This class is hardworking, loyal, and invested in their future. I am also excited to welcome their families to ours."
Calia Clubb | Tiffin, Iowa | Clear Creek Amana High School | OPP/OH
- Graduated early to begin training with the Redbirds in January 2022
- A 3-time unanimous First Team All-Conference selection
- A 2-time All-State Honorable Mention Selection
- A 4-year season leader in kills, finishing her high school career with 1,091
- Named the team captain of her volleyball team as a junior and senior
- Selected to the 2021 AVCA All-American Watch List
- Chosen as the Your Prep Sports Freshman of the Year
- Guided Clear Creek Amana to their first outright conference title in 10 years

"Calia was able to enroll early and begin training with the team this spring. She will add depth to our pin attackers and has the foundation to be a great volleyball player."
Hannah Reichensperger | Tower, Minnesota | Northeast Range High School | MB
- Holds the Northeast Range HS career kills record with 1,566 kills
- A four-time Arrowhead All-Conference selection
- Named the Most Valuable Player twice during her career
- A two-time team captain for the Northeast Range HS volleyball team
- 2021 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention selection
- 2021 AVCA All-Region selection
- 2021 All-State selection
- Max Preps kills leader – led the state of Minnesota with 605 season kills in 2021
Matters on Reichensperger:
"Hannah will make an impact in her position group and brings great physicality to our middle blockers and net presence."
Emily Weber | Fishers, Indiana | Hamilton Southeastern High School | S
- Helped her team to four-straight Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championships
- A two-time First Team All-Conference selection
- Named the 2021 team captain of the Hamilton Southeastern HS volleyball team
- Surpassed 1,000-career assists, finishing her high school career with 1,288 assists
- A 2020 Second-Team All-State selection
- Helped her team to two sectional championships
- Member of the 2019 state runner-up team
- Earned First Team All-District honors twice during her high school career
- A two-time IHSVCA North All-Star selection
Matters on Weber:
"Emily is a physical setter that leads by her voice and grittiness. She has been trained to force the middle attacker as often as possible and has worked hard to improve her defense and ball control."
Aida Shadewald | Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin | Sauk Prairie High School | OH
- Named the 2021 Badger Conference Co-Player of the Year
- Selected to the All-State First Team twice during her high school career
- A four-time academic all-state honoree
- Surpassed 1,000-career kills and 1,000-career digs, finishing her high school career with 1,559 kills and 1,180 digs
- A 2021 All-Conference First Team selection
- Guided her team to a conference championship in 2021
- Named Second Team All-Conference as a sophomore
Matters on Shadewald:
"Aida is a physical six rotation outside hitter that has worked hard to elevate her volleyball IQ in the past year or two. She will make an immediate impact on our pin attacker position and will add ball control as well."
Regan Haith | Lincoln, Nebraska | Pius X High School | MB
- A 2021 First Team All-City selection
- Helped Pius X to two HAC Tournament Championships
- A 2021 All-Star Team selection
- Two-time state qualifier
- Two-time district champion
Matters on Haith:
"I am very excited to add Regan to our talented group of incoming freshmen. Regan came across our desk unexpectedly and we were able to get her on campus right away. We connected with her and her family and knew they would be a great fit for our culture here at ISU. Regan is a great student and a great athlete. I expect her to make an impact in her position group offensively and add depth to our defense in blocking. We are looking forward to coaching Regan; we know she will have a great career as a Redbird."
Matters on the 2022 signing class as a whole:
"This class has been exposed to a very high level of competition. They have been leaders and captains on their high school and club rosters. I am looking forward to our fans seeing what these four can do for the Redbird Volleyball program. The list of accolades is quite impressive for each of them, and I am honored to be a part of their next chapter as student-athletes. They will do great things in the Redbird uniform."
