NORMAL, Ill. – Fifth-year junior Jared Hart provided seven innings of one-run baseball for Illinois State, but the Redbirds fell to Bradley, 3-1, in the series opener at Duffy Bass Field on Friday.
Hart allowed five hits, struck out three, and recorded four assists defensively.
The Redbirds had a season-low four hits and dropped to 14-18 overall and 2-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference as the Braves improve to 12-19 overall and 4-3 in the MVC.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Bradley scratched across the game's first run in the 7th inning before adding two more in the 8th inning to lead, 3-0.
Illinois State got a run back in the 8th inning on fifth-year junior Jake McCaw's team-leading 35th RBI of 2022.

- Hart tied the ISU season-long in innings (fourth-year junior Derek Salata also threw 7 innings - 3/17 vs Purdue)
- McCaw had a 23-game on-base streak, but fourth-year Connor Olson extended his on-base streak to 18 games with a walk.
- Illinois State moves to 2-2 in extra-inning games in 2022. Both wins were 4-3 while both losses were 7-6.
