NORMAL, Ill. – The Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year Ali Schrock has added her name to a prestigious list of just two other Redbird golfers as she was named to the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District team, announced on Thursday afternoon.
Schrock joins Samantha Richdale (2006) and Katie Kean (2012) as the only Redbird golfers to be named to the At-Large Academic All-District squad. The at-large grouping consists of student-athletes in the sports of beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis, and water polo.
She was named the MVC Golfer of the Year, just the second golfer in program history to earn the honor, and the first in program history to be named the Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Schrock and the Redbirds ended the 2021-22 season at the NCAA Stillwater Regional, ISU's first NCAA Regional appearance since 2013. Schrock's scoring average of 75.7 was the best on the squad and the sixth lowest in program history. For her career, her scoring average of 76.7 is the second lowest in program history. She was named the medalist at the 2022 Redbird Spring Invitational and was named MVC Golfer of the Week three times during the season.
