NORMAL, Ill. – In an effort to better connect community partners, donors, and fans to the name, image, likeness (NIL) efforts by the department, Illinois State Athletics plans to host a Community Collaboration event in the Aaron Leetch Club on May 16th at 3 p.m. The event will feature highlights on the importance of NIL for Redbird student-athletes, compliance rules education, and ways to get involved.
"Our goals with name, image, likeness and the community collaboration event are to continue to provide our student-athletes with a championship experience at Illinois State" Director of Athletics Kyle Brennan said. "This is an initiative we embrace as a department and by hosting an event like this, our goal is to connect and educate the community and our passionate fans on the importance of such an evolving topic in the changing landscape of college athletics."
In addition to a partnership with INFLCR, Illinois State Athletics plans to launch a comprehensive name, image, likeness program for student-athlete success. Included in the program will be policy and procedure education, endorsement and business best practices, intellectual property and contract education, financial literacy courses, and leadership development.
The launch of the NIL program will also include links for potential partnerships and submission areas for individual and group licensing. Proposals can be submitted through the website at the launch and details will be shared at the community collaboration event.
