CINCINNATI, Ohio - Junior Kaitlyn Prondzinski recorded 14 kills on a .323 hitting percentage to lead Illinois State in a five-set loss to Dayton on Saturday at Fifth Third Arena at Cincinnati.
After dropping the fourth set, Illinois State took a 4-1 lead in the fifth set, but a 6-2 Flyer run helped push Dayton to the five-set win. Dayton received votes in the AVCA preseason poll.
Senior Sarah Kushner recorded 11 kills, 10 digs, and four service aces while freshman Aida Shadewald had 13 kills and eight digs and senior Nicole Lund posted seven kills and six blocks.
