NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head football coach Brock Spack and his staff will publicly announce the 2023 Redbird Football signing class at a National Signing Day party to be held inside the Aaron Leetch Club the evening of Feb. 1. The event is free of charge and open to the public, with light snacks (while supplies last) and a cash bar provided.
The event will begin at 5 p.m., with a short meet-and-greet session before Coach Spack provides commentary and recruiting insight on the Redbird prospects and transfers, with video clips of the newest Redbirds available for viewing. Fans can then head over to CEFCU Arena to watch the ISU men's basketball game later that night at 7 p.m., as the Redbirds take on the UIC Flames.
"This is an event that we have looked forward in the past but have not been able to hold the past several years due to COVID so we are excited to get it going again," Spack said. "We put in a lot of long hours traveling, meeting these recruits, transfers and their families and the signing day party is a great celebration of all that hard work put in. We hope our fans, alumni and community supporters come out to talk with us about the newest Redbird Football players."
Fans attending the event that hold basketball parking passes are asked to park in their assigned lots and head to Hancock Stadium. For fans without assigned parking, spots will be made available in lots G64 (gravel lot across the Main Street from main entrance of the stadium) and G83 adjacent to the Ropp Agriculture Building and behind the Hancock Stadium scoreboard.
Prior to the event, GoRedbirds.com will provide up-to-date signing day coverage. As each National Letter of Intent (NLI) is certified by the Illinois State Athletics Compliance Office, biographies of each ISU recruit will be updated on GoRedbirds.com. In addition, signees will be announced on the official Redbird Football social media accounts on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.Â
