Thoughts from Coach Megan Harrington:
"I'm really proud of how the team fought through the meet today, after just competing on Friday night. Unfortunately, when you have quite a few mistakes on one event like we did on beam it can really pull down the overall team score, but the team didn't let that get in their heads and they came back strong to finish the rest of the meet. Overall, we had three really solid rotations and a lot of individual season high scores so there is still a lot to be happy about. We're really going to focus on building confidence this week, especially on beam, so we can hit four for four at home next Friday."
Team Notes:
•   The Redbirds started things off on bars with a 48.675 and had the lead following the first rotation.
•   The Huskies took the lead after the second rotation, after Redbirds struggled on beam as they had to score a fall.
•   ISU mounted a big comeback on floor, posting a season-high score of 49.225 to trim the NIU lead … that score ranks No. 5 on the ISU all-time list on the event.
•   A 48.700 finish on vault for the Redbirds helped them take second place, just behind the Huskies.
Gymnast Notes:
•   Senior Angelica Labat took the event win in the all-around, scoring a season-best 39.175 just ahead of NIU's Isabella Sissi …Â
•   Freshman Nirel Bart-Williams posted one of the best performances of the season for the Redbirds on floor, as she scored a career-best 9.925 to take home the event crown … the score was the highest by a Redbird this season and helped the team post its best team event score of the year as well.
•   Alana Laster took home an event win on the vault with a score of 9.850, while Labat tied for second place with a 9.825 … Laster also finished second on floor with a 9.875 and Labat tied for third with a 9.850.
