NORMAL, Ill.- Illinois State (3-6-4, 1-3-3 in MVC) fell 3-0 to Drake (9-3-3, 5-1-1 in MVC) on Thursday night at Adelaide Street Field. Coming off of the loss, the Redbirds have three remaining games in the regular season, with one more at home.
The Bulldogs scored three unanswered goals against Illinois State in the dominant victory. The defense for the 'Birds was solid for the majority of the first half as they battled to take away the Bulldogs momentum. Yet, Drake continued to apply pressure, putting seven shots on goal.
The 'Birds amassed 14 shots with five on goal. Although the Redbirds edged the Bulldogs in corners, the Drake keepers tallied one more save than the 'Birds on the night.
The Redbirds will head on the road to Indiana State to take on the Sycamores on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 PM.
