Redbirds Set to Play Three Matches in Four Days

NORMAL, Ill. – Riding a four-match MVC win streak (including 11 straight sets), the Illinois State volleyball team returns home to CEFCU Arena this weekend as the Redbirds will play three matches in four days.

The Redbirds welcome in Belmont and Murray State on Friday and Saturday, respectively, before hosting I-74 foe Bradley on Monday night. Friday night against the Bruins will be a "Black Out" as all fans are encouraged to wear black to match the team. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m. CT.

Then, on Saturday, it is the Redbirds and Racers with first serve at 7:00 p.m. CT following ISU Football's Homecoming game. Finally, next Monday night (first serve at 6 p.m. CT) is Reggie Kid's Club night as Admission is FREE for kids with a valid Reggie Kid's Club card.

Saturday, October 14 vs Murray State – 7:00 p.m.

· Fans can bring their ISU v. Indiana State football ticket to CEFCU Arena and exchange for entry into ISU v. Murray State volleyball

Monday, October 16 vs Bradley – 6:00 p.m. – REGGIE's KIDS CLUB NIGHT

· Reggie Fun Zone located on South Concourse

            - Bounce houses, Zoo Lady, and spot to collect Kid's Club t-shirt

· Admission is FREE for kids with a valid Reggie Kid's Club card.

WELCOME TO THE 1K (Assist) CLUB

Illinois State sophomore Emily Weber collected a match high 29 assists at UIC on Oct. 7 as the Redbirds would pick up a three-set sweep over the Flames.

As part of her 29-assist night, Weber officially became the newest member of the 1,000-assist club in program history, as she now sits 17th overall in program history with 1,023 assists.

NEWEST MEMBER OF THE 1K (Digs) CLUB

Graduate student Mari Hinkle eclipsed the 1,000 career dig mark during the first set of ILS' five-set win at Murray State on Sept. 29.

Hinkle finished the night with a game and career high 37 digs as she becomes the 10th active Missouri Valley Conference player with 1,000+ career digs.

Hinkle heads into the weekend sitting 16th in the NCAA for digs per set with a clip of 5.14, third in the MVC.

WELCOME TO THE HALL OF FAME

This weekend, ISU will celebrate Homecoming 2023 as five individuals who have left a lasting legacy at ISU will be celebrated including Redbird Volleyball alum, Jenny (Kabbes) Fuente. Fuente was a four-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection, two-time MVC Scholar-Athlete Team selection, and 1998 MVC Newcomer of the Year and All-Newcomer Team pick as a Redbird.

Following her time on the court, Jenny (Kabbes) Fuente went into coaching working at Illinois State and TCU. Welcome back to Normal, Jenny!
