NOMAL, Ill.- Illinois State Redbirds are regionally ranked with the women being ranked 11th and the men ranked 13th.
Announced earlier this week by U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association that both. The Redbirds coming off three strong performances in the last three meets with the women's team winning twice and the men winning once.
Last weekend was one to remember for three redbird runners as they edged themselves into the record books. Graduate student Claire Fuhlhage moved into third all-time at the 6,000-meter distance with a time of 20:45.1. One victory at the Hawkeye Invitational with MVC two Runner of the Week honors. Fuhlhage has either finished in the top two in the first three meets of the season. Redshirt junior Mathis Chavand ran his way into fifth all-time at the 8,000-meter with a time of 24:11.3, and had a top-5 finish at the Redbird Invite. Teammate junior Zack Loomis is now ninth all-time at the 8,000-meter distance with a time of 24:18.5, Loomis finished second at the Redbird Invite. Â Â Â
The Redbirds will look to continue their strong performances next week at the Bradley Classic on Friday, October 13th at 2:00 pm ct. in Peoria Ill.
