NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Freshman Daniel Pacella smacked his seventh home run of the season in the Illinois State baseball team's 6-3 loss to Belmont at E.S. Rose Park on Saturday.
Pacella's two-run home run in the 4th inning put the Redbirds (6-11 overall, 0-2 MVC) up 3-1 through four innings, but the Bruins (14-11 overall, 2-0 MVC) scored the game's next five runs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bruins took the lead in the 2nd inning before fourth-year junior Greg Nichols knocked in fourth-year junior Shaydon Kubo, who doubled, in the 4th inning to tie the game.
Pacella's two-shot run put ISU up, 3-1, before the Bruins responded with three runs in the 5th inning.
Belmont scored once in the 6th and 7th innings to secure the game.
