PEORIA, Ill. – Illinois State was unable to complete the three-game sweep of Bradley on Sunday at Dozer Park, but third-year junior Auggie Rasmussen smacked his sixth homer of the season in the 19-3 loss.
Rasmussen's 5th-inning homer brought ISU to within 4-2 of the Braves (12-23 overall, 4-11 Missouri Valley Conference) before the game unraveled for the Redbirds (13-22 overall, 4-11 MVC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The 'Birds had a runner thrown out at home in the opening frame before falling behind 4-0 through three innings.
Freshman Luke Lawrence beat out a two-out ground ball to plate ISU's first run of the game in the 4th inning prior to Rasmussen's solo shot in the 5th inning.
Lawrence knocked in another run in the 6th inning, but Bradley had scored five times in the 5th inning before tallying 10 runs in the 6th inning to put the game well out of reach.

- Rasmussen's on-base streak moves to 15 games, the longest by a Redbird this season.
- Freshman Daniel Pacella recorded his team-leading 15th multi-hit game.
UP NEXT
Illinois State is scheduled to play home games against Lindenwood (Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. CT) and Northern Illinois (Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. CT) before heading to Southern Illinois for a weekend series.
