2023 Cross Country Schedule Release

Normal, Ill. – The Illinois State University Cross County team has announced the new 2023 schedule which includes five regular season meets with one home meet before traveling down to Nashville Tennessee for the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in late October.

"Very optimistic about this crew on the men's side where we have most of our guys returning and should have a good year with some experience under our belts". ISU Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Jeff Bovee said. "Adding some newcomers on the women's side should be a test early for them in the year but should make a big impact at the end of the year". With a third- place finish last year at the Missouri Valley Conference for the men and a fourth-place finish for the women, look for the Illinois State University Cross Country team to make some noise in this upcoming season.

ISU kicks off the 2023 season in Iowa City, IA for the Hawkeye Invitational on Friday, September 1st at 6:00 P.M. CT. Last time the Redbirds were in Iowa City. The women finished fourth and the men finished seventh.

With a weekend off ISU returns home and host the Redbird Invite at Weibring Golf Club on Friday, September 15th with the first race starting at 5:00 P.M. CT. Last time hosting, both the men and women finished third.

In the third meet of the year the team travels to Chicago for the Loyola Lakefront on Friday, September 29th at 9:00 A.M. CT.

ISU travels just up the road to Peoria, Ill. For the Bradley Classic on Friday, October 13th at 2:00 P.M CT. The last time the Illinois State University Cross Country team was in Peoria the men finished ninth and the women finished 15th.

In the next meet the Redbirds wrap up the regular season in Carmel, Indiana at the Bulldog Invite hosted by Butler University starting at 4:00 P.M CT. The women placed third the last time ISU competed there.

The following weekend the ISU Cross Country team travels to Nashville, TN for the Missouri Valley Conference Championship. In last year's Conference Championship, the men finished third and the women finished fourth. The first race starts at 10:30 A.M EST

On Friday, November 10th in Stillwater, OK is where the NCAA Midwest Regional will be held with the first race starting at 11:00 A.M. CT. Last year, the Redbird women placed 14th while the men took 13th in the field of 32 and 27 teams.

The final race of the year is the NCAA Championship on Saturday, November 18th in Charlottesville Virginia with the first race starting at 11:00 A.M. CT.
