RICHMOND, Va. - Illinois State Swim and Dive earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team honors, as announced by the association office this week. The recognition comes after the team turned in a program-record 3.76 grade-point average, which tied for 7th in NCAA D1 women's swimming and diving.
It is the third straight semester that Illinois State ranks in the top-ten in NCAA D1 for GPA. The performance comes on the heels of a 3.74 team GPA in the Fall 2022 semester, ranking Illinois State sixth in NCAA D1 women's swim and dive. A year ago, the Redbirds also turned in a 3.74 GPA for the Spring 2022 semester, which led the MVC and ranked 8th among NCAA D1 women's swim and dive programs.
In total, 172 DI women's teams were named to the Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2023 semester. Illinois State's team GPA ranked second in the Missouri Valley Conference behind Marshall, who led NCAA D1.
