NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Athletics has announced that tickets are now available for the Football Kickoff Luncheon, which features head football coach Brock Spack and special guest head volleyball coach Allie Matters.
The luncheon will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 23 in the Aaron Leech Club at Hancock Stadium. Doors will open at 11:45 a.m. and the event will begin at noon with a buffet lunch followed by a program. The program will feature Coach Spack officially welcoming fans to the 2023 Redbird Football season with a preview of the upcoming schedule. Special guest Allie Matters will also take the stage and break down her team's preparations for the upcoming Redbird Volleyball campaign. Football student-athletes and assistant coaches from both the football and volleyball programs will also be in attendance.
Tickets are available to the public for $25 per person. Guests who purchase a table of eight for $200 will get the opportunity for a football student-athlete or a member of the coaching staff to sit with them. Seats are limited and the deadline to register for the Football Kickoff Luncheon is Wednesday, Aug. 15. Checks can be made payable to Illinois State University Athletics. Questions regarding the luncheon should be directed to Katherine Brucken at (309) 438-3636.
This event is being held in conjunction with the start of the season for both squads. Illinois State football will open the 2023 season at home at Hancock Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 2 at noon. The Illinois State volleyball team opens play at a tournament at Missouri from Aug. 25-26 and will play six matches, before returning home to host the annual Redbird Classic on Sept. 8-9 at CEFCU Arena.
