NORMAL, Ill. – For the first time since the 1970's, Illinois State and Illinois Wesleyan will meet on the basketball court on Sunday, October 29, when the Redbirds host the Titans inside CEFCU Arena in an exhibition doubleheader, presented by First Site.
The women's squads open the day with a 1 p.m. tip-off, and the men's game will start 30 minutes after the completion of the women's contest. Doors to CEFCU Arena will open at noon.
Tickets for the event will go on sale on October 2, and the game ticket – all of which will be general admission – will be included in ISU season ticket packages. Event tickets cost $20 and will give entry to both games.
ISU and IWU students with a student ID will be admitted for free. Parking information for the event will be available on a later date, and in line with previous seasons' exhibition games, Illinois State's Legends Room will not be open.
The pair of games are a community event, with proceeds split between Western Avenue Community Center, and a mental health collaboration between the schools. Western Avenue Community Center, opened in 1926, is a social service organization and community center, working with people of all ages and reaching out into the neighborhood. Today, WACC serves more than 2,000 families per year in the community.
There will be a press conference featuring both school's men's and women's head basketball coaches on Monday, August 21 at 2 p.m. inside the CEFCU Arena media room.
