COLUMBIA, Mo. - Sophomore Aida Shadewald tallied 14 kills while graduate student Kara Cooper added 10 kills to lead the Illinois State volleyball team in a hard-fought four set match in a hostile environment against the SEC's Missouri on Friday night.
Cooper held a .417 hitting percentage while sophomore Hannah Reichensperger's .421 clip (nine kills, one error on 19 attacks) led the Redbirds (0-1), which were even with the Tigers at 23-23 in the opening set before winning 27-25 in the second set.
Graduate student Mari Hinkle accumulated a match-high 22 digs.
