CHICAGO, Ill.- Three Redbirds entered the All-Time list frothier respected races.
This Friday the Redbird Cross Country team headed to the Great lakes of Chicago for the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront. With heavy competition the Redbirds held their own against the field, with two Midwest teams nationally ranked inside the top-25.
On the women's side Claire Fuhlhage finished second in the Gold Division race with a time of 20:45.1 making her the third best women's runner in school history. Junior Mattison Plummer took tenth place with a time of 21:28 breaking her personal best from last November. Junior Lauren Schulze finished with a time of 21:57.9 in 28th and a personal best as well. Vivianna Sanfilippo took 37th with a time of 22:12.8 crushing her personal best by 23 seconds. Freshmen Colleen Ziebert finished with a time of 22:18.2 and in 40th place with a personal best.
On the men's side Mathis Chavand took 26th with a time of 24:11.3 and edged his way as the fifth All-Time for the 8,000-meter race in school history. Not far behind him was teammate Zach Loomis who also cracked into the All-Time list with 24:18.5 as he currently sits at 9th All-Time. Baptiste Tardiveau finished 42nd with a time of 24:26.4. Graduate Student Nick Doud placed 70th with a time of 24:48.8 and rounding out the top five is senior Charlie Wetzel with a time of 24:52.2 and a 73rd place finish.
After a weekend off the Redbirds will travel to Peoria on October 13th hosted by Bradley for the Bradley Classic with the first race to begin at 2:00 PM CT
