NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the second straight time, it was Illinois State Volleyball sweeping the Belmont Bruins as the two programs met at the Curb Event Center on Saturday.
Individually, for the second straight night, sophomores Aida Shadewald and Hannah Reichensperger led the way with 13 kills, respectively. Shadewald would also lead the way in service aces on the night, as she gathered four.
Sophomore Emily Weber, one night after a career-high performance against Murray State, recorded her ninth straight match with 20+ assists as the sophomore collected 30 assists on Saturday.
Most notably on Saturday, the Bruins came alive in the third set as they sat with set point (24-22) before it was the resilient Redbirds who came back to claim four straight points and the sweep for their second MVC win in as many nights.
Illinois State improves to 4-12 overall and 2-2 in the MVC while Belmont drops to 9-10 overall and 3-2 in the MVC.
