NORMAL, Ill.-- The Illinois State Swimming and Diving team collected one diving win and one swimming victory on day one of a two-day dual meet against Ohio University. Eva Reyes posted a score of 280.05 on the three-meter board while Emma Feltzer claimed the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24:07 and nine points. The Redbirds will continue action in Horton Pool tomorrow, the day one final score was 89-42 (OH).
Head Coach Riley Hilbrandt was impressed with the way the team bounced back after the Indiana State Meet. "Our team wanted to focus on three big things today: attack, bring the energy, and putting in effort. From our team two weeks ago, I've already seen this team grow together both as a group and individually. I'm excited to see them race a typical meet line up tomorrow and let it rip! Overall, I think it's only positive and good vibes to bring into day two," Hilbrandt said.
HIGHLIGHTS:

50 yard butterfly- Mia Snow (25.89) and Giulia Basco (26.29) were neck and neck to claim fourth and fifth place.

50 yard backstroke- Chloe Tyler was just short of the team's second title clocking a time of 26:48.

50 yard breaststroke- Sydney Hoff clocked a time of 31.07 for fourth.

50 yard freestyle- Emma Feltzer claimed first with a time of 24:07.

50 yard freestyle- Sylvia Admire and Adi Luker tied in fourth with a time of 25:40.

200 freestyle relay team one- Feltzer/Turken/Tyler/Snow (second).

200 freestyle relay team two- Hoff/Admire/Hervey/Basco (fourth).

200 freestyle relay team three- Hailey Fris/Avery Watson/Hope Westphal/ Payton Dorman (fifth).

Three-Meter Diving- Eva Reyes recorded a score of 280.05 for first.
UP NEXT-
The Redbirds will return to Horton Pool for day two against Ohio University, before they will hit the road for three-consecutive road meets at Southern Illinois/Illinois-Champaign (November 1), Purdue (November 22-23) and the US Open in Greensboro N.C. (December 4-7).
