Illinois State Scores First, Falls to Little Rock in Series Finale

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Illinois State baseball team scored in the 1st inning on Sunday but dropped the series finale, 10-5, to Little Rock at Gary Hogan Field.

Illinois State drops to 2-4 in 2024 while Little Rock improves to 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED

An RBI triple in the 1st inning from redshirt junior Judah Morris opened the game's scoring.

Little Rock scored three times in the 2nd inning to take an early 3-1 lead.

The game would be tied 3-3 in the 3rd after a solo homerun from sophomore Daniel Pacella and a wild pitch which scored Morris with the bases loaded.

ILS took a slight one-run lead in the top of the 5th inning off a sac fly from junior Noah Rabin before Little Rock tied it in the bottom of the 5th with a solo homerun of their own to make it 4-4.

The teams traded the lead once more in the 6th inning before the Trojans added four runs in the 7th inning to push the lead to the final margin of five, moving to 4-2 all-time versus the 'Birds.
