NORMAL, Ill. – The Redbirds fell in the series finale against the Drake Bulldogs in a one-run thriller. The 'Birds move to 12-24 on the season and 6-5 in conference.
Delainey Bryant continued both of her streaks in the game, moving to 20 consecutive games reaching base, with 13 consecutive games with a hit. Abby Knight and Bryant owned all four of the Redbird hits in the game, with two apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the top of the first, Delainey Bryant got fulfilling her streaks out of the way early, with a single to right. Although Bryant made it to third in the inning, the 'Birds were unable to come up with a run. The Redbirds and the Bulldogs were deadlock for    innings.
In the top of the fifth, the Bulldogs threatened with runners on the corners with just one away, but back-to-back groundouts for Paige McLeod, got the 'Birds out of the inning.
The Bulldogs plated the first run in the top of the sixth on a single to left center. The sole run would go down as unearned due to a Redbird error earlier in the inning. McLeod would work out of the inning with just one scored to bring Jayden Standish up for the 'Birds in the bottom of the inning.
The Redbirds were unable to plate a run in the final two innings, and fell 1-0 in regulation.
UP NEXT
The Redbirds will head on the road to Chicago twice, this week, taking on DePaul on Tuesday, Apr. 2 at 3:00 p.m. CT. The 'Birds will then head back to the windy city to take on a conference series against the UIC Flames. The first game is slated for 5:00 p.m. CT on Apr. 5.
