Pacella, Morris Homer in Illinois State's 8-6 Win over Lindenwood

SAINT CHARLES, Mo. –  Redshirt junior Judah Morris and sophomore Daniel Pacella tallied a home run in Illinois State baseball's 8-6 win over Lindenwood at Lou Brock Sports Complex Wednesday.

Pacella went 2-for-5 with an RBI as Morris finished with three RBIs to lead the Redbirds (19-15 overall), who finished with 11 hits total.

Lindenwood moves to 12-24 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Pacella's solo shot in the 1st inning got the scoring started.

In the top of the 2nd, a SAC bunt by junior JT Sokolove and an RBI single from senior Greg Nichols gave ILS a 3-0 lead.

Lindenwood got on the board in the bottom of the 2nd with a solo home run to left field.

The Redbirds got their second home run of the afternoon in the top of the 3rd, this time off the bat of Morris, to pull ahead 5-1.

Lindenwood got within two off a two-run home run in the bottom of the 5th, making it 5-3.

The top of the 6th saw ILS plate two with an RBI single from junior Tyler Herron and a sac fly from sophomore Luke Lawrence, pushing the lead to 7-3.

The Lions scored the next three runs of the game, two in the 6th and one in the 7th, to make it a one-run game (7-6).

Illinois State got some much-needed insurance in the top of the 9th, as Morris drove in Lawrence to give the Redbirds an 8-6 lead.
