Season Comes To An End For ISU In Semifinals of Summit League Championships

DES MOINES – The 2024 season came to a close for the Illinois State men's tennis team on Friday night, as the Redbirds fell by a score of 4-0 to host Drake at the 2024 Summit League Championship held inside the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs took the early advantage by winning the doubles point, thanks to victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. As action moved to singles play, the ISU deficit grew to 2-0 after Jeremy Schifris defeated Arvid Hjalte by a score of 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot. The Drake lead moved to 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-4 win at the No. 6 spot and the match was clinched by Drake's Matija Matic when he beat Adrian Dibildox by a final of 6-3, 7-5 at the No. 3 spot.
