NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State baseball team opened the weekend series versus Southern Illinois Friday with a 10-0 run-rule victory at Duffy Bass Field.
Illinois State (22-22 overall, 10-9 MVC) was led by three hits and three RBIs from redshirt junior Judah Morris.
Southern Illinois drops to 26-20 overall and 9-10 in the MVC.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Illinois State scored first with back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the 2nd from junior Noah Rabin and Morris.
The Redbirds added four runs in the 5th with an RBI single by sophomore Luke Lawrence before senior Auggie Rasmussen homered to drive in three and make it 6-0 ILS.
Illinois State put up two more runs in both the 6th and 7th to place the game into run-rule territory.

- Rabin and Morris hit the first back-to-back home runs for the 'Birds since May 2022 (Ryan Cermak and Jake McCaw)
- Lawrence's on-base streak moves to 30 games, the longest by a Redbird since Derek Parola's 33-game streak in 2019, as he singled to left field in the 5th.
- Rasmussen and Rabin now lead the team with 11 home runs in 2024
