EAST LANSING, Mich. – Illinois State's record-breaking efforts during the 2023-24 season continued through the end of the season, as the Redbirds carded their lowest NCAA Regional team score in program history (918), and Jinyoung Yun's three-round 221 is the lowest score by an ISU golfer in an NCAA Regional.
 The 918 carded by the 'Birds for the three rounds bests the previous record of 929 set during the 2004 season, at ISU's home course. Yun's 221 was a stroke better than the 222 carded by Samantha Richdale during the same season, which was held on a par-71 course. The lowest individual par-72 score was a 225 by Rachel Powers in 2013.
Among the other records the program set during the season includes individual low scoring average (72.6 by Jinyoung Yun), lowest career scoring average (75.8 by Avalon Woodward), most career rounds and strokes (133 and 10,122 by Ali Schrock), lowest single season scoring average (297.4, previous record was 303.5) and the total number of at or under par rounds for a team (35)
ISU had three golfers – Yun, Schrock, and Woodward – each card a final-round 74, while Vinisha Gunaseelan carded an 81 and Michaela Kverkova an 82. For Schrock, Woodward, Gunaseelan, and Kverkova, it was their final round as a collegiate golfer.
Yun tied for 27th in the field for the three rounds, while Schrock tied for 31st. Woodward finished 60th, and Kverkova 61st overall in the loaded NCAA Regional field.
