Ali Schrock Named First Team Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas – Recent Illinois State graduate Ali Schrock continues to add to her legacy as a Redbird, as she was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America First Team on July 16, 2024. It is the third consecutive CSC/CoSIDA Academic All-America honor for the Pontiac, Illinois, native, as she was named to the third team in 2022 and second team in 2023.

Schrock becomes the fourth Redbird in school history to earn three Academic All-America honors and is joined on that list by former men's basketball standout Doug Collins, and cross country/track & field standouts Stacia Beste, and J.D. Lafayette. She is also the 23rd student-athlete in Illinois State history to earn First Team Academic All-America honors, and the first from the women's golf program.

She is the only student-athlete in the NCAA Division I At-Large field to have earned her third Academic All-America honor, is the lone MVC student-athlete to be named to any of the three At-Large teams this season and is one of two women's golfers to make the prestigious first-team list.

Schrock was named the 2023-24 MVC Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She also earned the honor after the 2021-22 season, and she is one of two golfers in conference history to have been named the Scholar-Athlete of the Year multiple times. Earlier this season she became just the third golfer in MVC history to earn two or more MVC Elite 17 honors, joining former Redbird Katie Jean on that prestigious list. She is also one of just four golfers in program history to have been named a MVC Scholar-Athlete three times in their career (along with Katie Jean, Stacey Miller and Samantha Richdale).

The graduate who completed her final season of eligibility in 2024 was the 2022 MVC Golfer of the Year. She earned All-MVC honors in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and was named to the MVC All-Tournament Team in 2022 and 2024. This past season she tied for first place individually at the 2024 MVC Championship. She had a scoring average of 73.906 on the season, the second-lowest season scoring average in program history and had two first-place finishes (tied for the fourth-most in a season in school history) and five top-10 finishes (tied for the 19th-most in a season in school history). She had ten rounds where she was at or under par, which is the third-most in a season in program history, and her career scoring average of 76.105 is the third lowest in women's golf history at Illinois State.
