NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State swimming & diving will travel to Ypsilanti, Mich., for the Eastern Classic against Eastern Michigan and Toledo. The two-day event is set to begin Friday at 9 a.m. CST and will resume on Saturday at 3 p.m. CST.
The Redbirds will make their first road trip of the 2025-26 campaign after a dominant meet win against Quincy on Friday, Oct. 3. Illinois State secured 12 event wins on its path to a 180-72 meet victory.
On Friday, the Redbirds had multiple student-athletes claiming multiple event wins across the meet. Graduate Mia Snow opened her season with wins in the 50 Y Free and 100 Y Fly. In the 50 Y FreeSnow led a podium sweep with a mark of 24.20.
Sophomore Hope Westphal kicked off the individual events with a win in the 1000 Y Free with a mark of 11:05.33. Westphal became the second Redbird to earn her second event win on the day after securing the victory in the 500 Y Free with a time of 5:24.34.
In her collegiate debut, Freshman Ava Osterndorf secured two wins, with victories in the 100 Y Breast with a time of 1:07.53 and in the 200 Y Breast with a mark of 2:24.52.
Senior Chloe Tyler earned two event wins with victories in the 100 Y Back with a time of 58.08 and the 200 Y Back with a mark of 2:06.87. Junior transfer Bailey Gott earned runner-up finishes to Tyler in both events in her first meet as a Redbird.
