NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State Track & Field program is set to travel to Nashville, Tenn., this Friday for the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt University. The two-day event will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
The Redbirds head to the Music City for the second year in a row following a successful weekend at the Keck Select Invitational last week. Illinois State continues to build momentum after it saw three student-athletes join the program's top list for their respective events on Saturday. In total, Illinois State has had 30 performances entered or climbed up the top-10 list so far this season.
Freshman Braeden Brown kicked off the action on Saturday joining the program's top-10 list after scoring 4625 points in the men's heptathlon. Brown now sits ninth in Illinois State history following his performance.
Junior Karlie Stauder, joined Brown to become the second Redbird on the day to enter the program's top-10 list. Stauder cleared the bar at 3.71m (12-2), which moves her to ninth in Redbird history.
Sophomore Jacob Klink became the third Redbird on the day to enter the program's top-10 list after making a throw of 17.05m (55-11.25). Klink sits eighth in Illinois State history for shot put and holds a top-10 mark for both indoor and outdoor shot put.
The event will be available to watch through ESPN+ on both Friday and Saturday.
