JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior Tanner Perry struck out eight across 6.1 innings as Illinois State baseball dropped the series opener at Jacksonville by a 2-0 scoreline Friday at John Sessions Stadium.
The Redbirds (0-3) managed three hits against the Dolphins (1-4).

Jacksonville took the lead with a one-out single and back-to-back RBI doubles in the 7th inning.
